"FreeRice is a sister site of Poverty.com. Our partners are the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University and the United Nations World Food Program.
FreeRice has two goals:
Provide education to everyone for free.
Help end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free.
This is made possible by the generosity of the sponsors who advertise on this site.
Whether you are CEO of a large corporation or a street child in a poor country, improving your education can improve your life. It is a great investment in yourself.
Perhaps even greater is the investment your donated rice makes in hungry human beings, enabling them to function and be productive. Somewhere in the world, a person is eating rice that you helped provide. Thank you."

I just played till 1000 grains of rice were donated. This is a wonderful feeling...am gonna play some more for sure!
I am disgusted (and sadly, not at all surprised) that countries like America/Australia/Canada/New Zealand have the worst record for giving aid ...and all it would take to get our govt donating is tons of letter from us all asking for this. They even have a link to a letter you can print out to your particular countrys govt...which I've just printed and will send when I go into town. Thanks Christelle, this is a very good thing you have pinted us all to...
Oh, I used to play this from my friend's blog, too. I forgot how much I was able to raise. :)
By the way, I dropped an EC here.
